Have you read The Giver by Lois Lowry? Then you know that the ending can be the subject of some very interesting conversations. Did Jonas and Gabriel really sled down into a new city or did they die from hardship and was the new city a metaphor for heaven? These two readers needed to know the author's perspective so they wrote her a letter.
